The standard issue Submachine Gun commonly issued to Cynid Troop castes (in conjunction with the 'Arc-Rifle' for longer range capabilities). The Arc - SMG like the Arc - Rifle electrically charges bullets as they fire through the four 'prongs' based around the muzzle, which are charged by an adjacent power pack. There are two meters, the one on top indicating the 'heat' of the power pack (too high a temparature will greatly reduce damage as the power pack dissipates to cool down) and the bottom meter is a counter for the number of bullets in the clip. The gun comes complete with a scope and a 'stock' which can be pulled out, otherwise it can be dual-wielded. The gun has a sixty round clip-based magazine which electronically loads 5mm bullets (I don't know what the standard bullet size is so that might be too big or small :P) into the firing chamber to avoid jamming, however it also features a backup loading system should something like an EMP fry the autoloader, in this case the gun could jam. The scope can zoom in up to 3 times current magnification which can be adjusted through the little nib on top. In addition, the gun is still very dangerous even when out of ammunition as pulling the trigger will still make the electrically charged prngs to spin fast enough to become as potent as a chainsaw.

5mm is a pretty tiny round, although it is comparable to a .22 caliber, which is what US forces use in their m4 rifles. It would work for an SMG platform. Though I would have expected something a bit more brutal from the Cynids. 9mm is sort of the standard for metric rounds. Don't know if that helps or not.
