On July 16, I bought a badge, and was told it was from the year 1943. And I believe that this badge might have been used by a former Japanese Kōtō officer.

Tokubetsu Kōtō Keisatsu were the people you did not want to mess with if you were in Japan. They kept the Japanese people from memention incidents like the Rape of Nanking and the Battle of Midway. In the March 15 incident, in Japan, The Kōtō arrested thousands of people working with the Japan Communist Party.
