Character design is based on the cubi of DMFA by missmab, who are characterized not by their wings but by having a second set of wings on their head. A third set of wings at the hips means that this particular cubi is a Clan Leader!
Shawnee is the leader of the cubi clan associated with the emotion of depression. She rose to power by spending 600 years killing any member of her clan who didn't support her rise to power. Of course, the more members of her clan she killed, the more members of her clan opposed her, leading to more killing, which is ultimately how she was able to amass enough power to ascend to tri-wing status. Since her ascension, she rarely speaks to anyone beyond the barest acknowledgment of their existence.
Shawnee is enamored of Destania, and members of her clan are said to trail in the wake of clan Nact'larn.
Clan quirk: Whatever color Shawnee's wings are, so are all members of her clan. Members of her clan born before her ascension retained their original wing color until the first time she changed it after ascending. Likewise, converts into her clan will also retain their original wing color until she changes hers again.
