Alright. Everything I tried failed. Maybe I should just give in and stop working on it. Come on, every texture I put into this pic isn't noticeable at this size. Only at 100% working size you'll see a difference. :/ That kinda sucks. And I still haven't figured out why my fur looks so plain and not so realistic.
(btw: the WIP looks kinda odd, I know. I readid a few things like the coat in the background and I always switch from one part of a pic to another, because I get easily bored.)

Dear Lord! If I could get anything to look half that good when I dabbled around I would die of a heart attack from shock. I think you are being a little over critical of the work. The lighting and coloring combination is not an easy one to work in, and it looks great to me.
I have to agree with the posts above that even if you don't finish it, which I hope you do, that it looks very cool. It seems that as he steps forward through the hardships he becomes more defined both physically, through the stress of the fight, and mentally through the experience. The incomplete look of the creatures in the background lend themselves to this. He has already passed them and so they are not completely "there" but have left their marks on him and refuse to fade completely into nothing as they linger in his thoughts.
