I had the pleasure of being commissioned by an Ingress agent in Boston, MA to create a logo for the Boston Enlightened. She gave me some really cool ideas, but the most important thing that stuck out to me is that she made it clear that they don't take themselves seriously and like to have fun!
She showed me one of the agent's dogs, a beagle named Sam, owned by agent SkyExplosions. I was told they jokingly call the dog their leader.
The idea spawned at that moment to have a beagle Cerberus, and well... Here we are!
This is fully hand illustrated by myself, except for the skyline of Boston which was a lovely vector provided by the client. I vectored the faction logo myself in the background.
Rock on, Boston ENL! Thanks for a fun project!

In the game of Ingress there are two factions or "teams", the Resistance and Enlightened.
In the current backstory, the Resistance support ADA, an AI that wants to turn humans into human-machine hybrids. They want to stop the Shapers and elevate humanity using machines.
The Enlightened embrace the Shapers, which are more-or-less aliens that have been, apparently, on earth since the dawn of time. They want to stop ADA and continue to elevate humanity with the help of the Shapers, which has been going on since humans came into existence.
It's basically robots vs. aliens. Haha.
You can learn more at www.ingress.com, it's now available for iOS and was originally an Android only game.

They muck things up for Resistance, that's what they do.
But seriously the elevator pitch is that Ingress is a territory control game where the control points are actual culturally relevant places in real life. The two factions are green (enlightened) and blue (resistance). Think of it as somewhere between geocaching, touring the city, and a f2p phone mmorpg and you won't be too far off.
I've been told that the Boston groups in particular are a lot of fun to play with, and this logo is gorgeous. Hopefully it won't be too long before the Boston Resistance makes contact. =3
