I've explained this in a friend's journal, but I'm only using the waitress base for learning how to color better as well as just art better in general. I know it gets posted a lot, but I just want to document my progress. So far, I think I'm doing pretty well, but I don't mind critiques.

Inspiration: I love the site kuler.adobe.com and I mess around with color palettes. I really like this palette and I think it went pretty well. Also, I love what you can do with the waitress base sometimes. This little pup is pretty cute and I don't know what I was doing with the markings, but it just seemed fun and interesting.
