It's finally finished! Truthfully it's been done a couple days now, I just hadn't shot pictures yet, and was busy framing other stuff for AC. It looks gorgeous, worth all the time spent inhaling toxic fumes. It also reminded me of why I hate and love working with acrylic.
I've played it for all of 15 minutes, and I must be crazy but it will be up in the Anthrocon art auction. Stop by, check it out. Rock on you crazy diamonds!

~ This goes hand in hand with what me and a new friend of mine were talking about. :3 They have a love of guitars and coming up with designs and we were talking about how many things, like guitar design, you can change to your personality, wishes, desires, because it really is a piece of art.
~This is lovely work here and though I haven't had a chance to mess with acrylics, I hear how difficult it can be sometimes. :s I wouldn't want to sell it personally, but then I'd want to share it too and it's of course out of your choice. ^w^

There's a lot that can be done with guitars. A handful of famous body shapes really have hold on the market, but when you look beyond that to a truly custom guitar, the sky's the limit. Especially with electric. The tone might suffer a little bit, but it's great for playing at home, or rocking out a big crowd that won't really care (or be able to discern through the dB) about minor tone issues.
As for sell vs. keep, if it goes for the reserve price, I'll have enough to start again, and this time apply the lessons I learned making this one so the next one comes out better.

~ I have more of a love of skateboarding personally and though in some aspects, "less" customizable, I like to make up designs for longboards, to say, beyond what colour choices and art deigns you can paint on some decks. X3 My buddy Rinz was talking of the possibility of a guitar shaped longboard the other day; it sounded sweet.
~That is true though as with each piece an artist does, they learn more for the next piece and the next along with the wonders of trial and error, taking chances and doing things you might've thought you couldn't have done at that time.
