This is Halloween, everybody make a scene- trick or treat 'til the neighbor's gonna die of fright.

WELL UH
Sorry guys but my Fall obsession is just gonna get more and more evident from here on out D8 Because technically every day is Halloween- andeveryweekissharkweek.

I actually would like that on my headstone. "Here lies LA, for whom every day was Halloween, and every week was Shark Week"

OH BUT ABOUT THIS LADY-
She's hella special to me. A long while back with my best friend we were trying to come up with our own Nightmare Before Christmas characters, which would- naturally- be Halloweentown citizens.
And this is who I came up with! I've only posted her once before on here, but she is probably my second favorite OC.

She's an entirely new species, a CLOSED species as was super obviously stated above, called a Pumpkit. Pumpkin + Kitten = Pumpkit
I've designed up other animal/jack-o-lantern hybrids under this same species idea, but she is my main lass.

She's made up of pumpkin shell, but is completely empty on the inside except for her fire-core. The fire-core is just a central fire that almost constantly burns inside of her, making her more active and mobile than she would be otherwise.
She can remove parts of this fire physically, or can 'summon' them from inside her body to her hands or as projectiles outwards towards targets.

The outside of her hollow pumpkin-shell body is covered in short, silky black fur.

She has the ability to 'carve' herself without causing herself harm. She can stencil designs into her body or even completely lose limbs and have them regrow/the designs grow over and back together into the original smooth surface. (her mouth remains as it is and will not seal over, but can be opened, closed, and move as a mouth does)

She does NOT have leaves magically appear out of her hair. she stuffs them into her ponytail and they periodically fall out over the course of the day.

While she possesses eyes (and not just holes in her head)- they are practically see-through and reflect the light glowing inside of her from her fireheart.

Her fire can change colors, depending on what she ingests. She does not have any bodily systems like a cat would- no respiratory, no digestive, no reproductive, nothing. What she does instead to 'eat' is to just toss wood, paper, leaves, what-have-you into her mouth to be caught by her inner fire. Depending on what object she eats, her fire may temporarily change color.
For example:

Red- S. Salts, S. Nitrates
Orange, yellow, coral, peachy - Normally occuring colors
Lime Green- Borax
Green- C. Sulfate, Boric A.
Blue- C. chloride
Purple/Violet- P. compounds, P. Sulfate, P. Nitrate
Pink- L. Chloride
White- M. Sulfate

She also will eat various other items to create more smoke production, sparks, flashes, etc

(She carries around multiple containers of these mentioned chemicals so that these effects can be handily made) However, her favorite 'food' has always been wood.

While I might draw her in other outfits, this is her typical jumpsuit and she ALWAYS wears black and white stripes.

In order to 'create new life' Pumpkits simply trot out to the pumpkin patch, pick a jack-o-lantern, and place a piece of their fire-core into the pumpkin. In time, the pumpkin will grow and form into a pumpkit. (takes about a year- they like to perform this act on Halloween, so that the new Pumpkits will be 'harvested' by the next October.)

As a part jack-o-lantern, Raegan does have a 'stem' the grows out of her head. However, with the Pumpkit species the stem can sometimes bi-form, and instead grow like antlers or horns would. Rae usually keeps her horns sawed down out of sight- but can be seen sometimes with grown out stems.

Every time the stems grow out, they can take on a different shape and style.
*In moments of extreme agitation Pumpkit's fires will burn bigger, brighter, and their stems will grow 7x or more the usual growth rate (a stem that was 'sawed' in the morning will be poking out about the hair line by the next morning- it's like their version of shaving.)
