Im looking forward to EA's upcoming space horror. looks to be good and scary. I personally felt that they needed a more dome like helmet making the player more human and also the possibility of the glass breaking if you get hit too much ending in decompression if in a vacuum.
Also if they could make that the player could slip into first-person with a tap of a button. not to move about but just to look about. left stick moves the perspective about and the right stick would control the actual head in the helmet so you can look and see vitals as well as blood on the screen and cracks :P (sorry this isnt furry art so put it in my scraps)

I should look into this game, i love horror in general, and when they make horror games its fantastic. The terror in his expression is dead on, with the dripping blood and creepy glowing eyes in the background. This is fantastic. Thank you for giving me another game to look forward to :)
Yeah the glass dome while more atmospheric would not work for the player since he's supposed to be a miner he has the reinforced helmet to protect his head. Though if it's any consolation to you the game will feature RE4 style brutal death animations for the player when they are killed by a monster. No simply falling over dead, you will be torn the fuck apart.
that dome idea of yours reminds me of this one part in Earthworm Jim, you were in this big scuba bubble and if you crashed too much the bubble cracked open. That also reminds me of that one scene in the movie Abyss... All three of these things all spook me out big time, i think this whole "cracking helmet" would be an awesome little gimmick for a video game
thanks, it also freaks me out. they should do something like that in a first person game. it was bad in the abyss when that guys under water pod was falling deeper and deeper and the glass began to crack. could you imagine a first person game. you just hear the player heavy breathing. a terrible feeling of claustrophobia.
I'm also looking forward to this game, as well as Project origin and silent hill 5. Yeah, the guy in the suit looks like a Big Daddy, but i guess they pulled out the "not showing the face of the hero so the player can feel like he's the hero" card... Let's just hope they don't blow up this game
Wow, very nice, and creepy I agree about the cracks and decompression, only i'd say i'd like to see the whole helmet slowly crack even if you aren't still being damaged after the first crack appears. then when its like can't-see-though anymore, it shatters and *SPLOOSH* Explosive decompression. And yes, I am a HUGE horror movies with gore fan. lol
They're coming out of the walls! They're coming out of the GOD DAMN WALLS!
I am intrigued by this game... we haven't had a really good and scarey space game since System Shock 2. Aliens VS Predator games came close, but just not quite up to par with SHODAN...
FEAR was also mind-bogglingly frightening, I still haven't finished it yet cus I get too freaked out to play anymore after a few hours... but it's not set in space, so doesn't quite count :P
My experience with EA has always been kinda eh though... so many times they'll make a game look really promising and then when you play it, it turns out to be just really lackluster... just enough to get your money and run :S

I need to start paying closer attention to video game news (lol must because Im so broke and need so many games. but yay for a new horror type game to go with Silent Hill 5 and RE 5.
Also that is one really cool drawing, and like everything you do really, really, really good :3

Only the dead survive....
I just got the game yesterday... I haven't really played it much yet so I can't give a straight review, but there is one thing that really surpassed my expectations and that's the sound! This game has the creepiest sound ever, and that alone will send chills down your spine.
The animations and fluidity of the necromorphs is also a major plus! They move with such grotesque, organic, motion... it's like they came straight from "The Thing".
Have you been following all the backstory that has been offered online? I suggest, that if you really want to get into the game, you check out the "animated" comic, the noknownsurvivors.com website, and the Dead Space Downfall movie. Those things really hyped me up :)

I actually just finished the game not too long ago. I can definitely say that you will not be disappointed :)
Although... it really isn't that scary. The first 30 minutes or so may be a little creepy, but the rest of the game is more action oriented than horror oriented. Overall, it's still freaking amazing!

man, if I could dismember people just by stomping on them, there would be alot more torso people in the world. its a great atmosphearic game with good tension and controls. though to be to the point of your picture, we never really get a classic atronaught glass-helmet look at our hero, but he has bad hair.
You definitely did an incredible job of capturing Dead Space quite well with this artwork! I personally LOVE Dead Space but I didn't like the whole fact of concealing Issac's face behind a "mask" - I would have loved to see the fear in his eyes when he came across all those grotesque aliens..
But then again.. you captured the fear quite well in this drawing!
