Faint lines, 2h lead

Pencils: I love them, they have depth and tone and if you're careful, it's quite easy to fix mistakes. They don't produce the sharpest results though. With my new found love for pencil shading though, I'm leaning into this camp.
Pens: This is like a suicidal, self destructive day dream. I love the sharp contrast and stark level of detail you can get with a good set of pens and some patience. Screw up though, and if you don't have a backup plan, and in some cases you might as well just start fresh.
Thoughts/opinions?

Pencils: These things always make a mess for me, eraser shavings and all, they also smudge easy
Pens: Well my love of pens can't be denied, however you're right about the "one mistake and it's over" part; I really want to be more masterful with a pen so this doesn't happen
Ink: I try to be extremely careful when I'm inking anything, because like pens, they can make a mistake your last
