Thanks, I was not sure if the lightning would be too cliche or trite, but I like it, ties in the storm horse sort of feel.

I used Painter X. A very nice digital paint program. I utilized a few custom brushes but mostly I just worked with the scratchboard tool and the hide of the horse was done with Chalk.
