This is a WIP project of mine. It's called a Zagnutz flying wing and has a 52" wingspan. I built one of these when I first got into the hobby but now I'm rebuilding it and making it much lighter. It can work without a motor but I'm going to put one on when I find the time to do so. I've been throwing it out the window several times a day now just to test its glide rate as I build and so far I'm impressed that I was able to build this so light. Next up is a set of winglets and some LEDs mounted inside the wings to make it night fly ready.

lol, having the panther right there wasn't a mistake, was it? :p
My dad and I built two flying wings using .25 nitro engines. Just hot wire on pink foam. We'd fly combat with em, lol. Oddly never hit, until one day we wern't trying and BAM! infront of 200 people at a funfly we do a mid air.

The panther was just a coincidence but a good one :)
I love to do combat with other people. I fly combat with 3-7 other people with EPP foam pizza box flyers. I think I have a pic of mine in my galary somewhere. They are so durable and we've crashed them into poles, other planes, walls, gravel, and even my thigh. Even though that last one hurt it was still fun. That plane is easily the best $50 I have spent in the whole hobby and several others in my club agree. What kind of planes were you using? Also where are you from? If you're around Indiana you can fly at the combat nats during the summer. This year's nats is already over but there's always a next year as long as the FAA doesn't change that.

We flew what was called "Gremlins" or my dad called "down spout planes" just foam and pvc drainage square piping.
I built a Ace rc bingo 40 with a thunder tiger .46 engine back in 1995. I still have it.. mounted to my wall, mothballed.
Then I got into electrics and loved them. No need for a club or anything, just go th the park and fly

I still have yet to venture into nitro planes. They're messy, noisy, need tuning to run, and cost too much so I've been sticking with the electrics that work out of the box. I've made it my goal to explore every part of the RC hobby and have done everything but boats, gliders, and free flight. I've also adapted my room to plane building and figured out that a plane's air displacement can be seen by tying a string to the AC vent and holding the wing close to it. Even my college application has RC planes and helis all over it. It's shaped my past, present, and future in ways that can't be ignored.
