Koda and Brother Bears belongs to Disney.
"Take it easy, don't run so fast or you will trip over your belly!" Kenai shouted at his little brother as he was dashing in front of them, as they all four where making their way towards the secret growing place for the Hot Air berries. "I have had all day to learn walking around like this, I think I can handle it..." Koda said just before tripping over a tree branch, sending the bear cub rolling down on his circled swollen middle.
Because they happen to be walking down on a path that was leaning slightly, it only made Koda roll even faster. "Koda!" Kenai shouted and started to try and catch up to him, while Rutt & Tuke tried to not lose Kenai without tripping over with their own bellies.
Koda's fast rolling took a sudden stop as he ended up stuck into some bushes. Inside his face and front paws weren't able to move because it was so overgrown in there, while the rest of his body was hanging outside. And because of the angle he was put into he couldn't reach down to grab the ground with his back paws.
Just as he thought he was going to be stuck like this forever he could feel something grabbing his feet hanging outside, and before he knew it he was pulled out by his brother. "Are you okay?" He asked. "Yes." Koda answered back. "Are you really sure? You haven't got a hole or anything?" Kenai asked, feeling on Koda's belly to see if it had been punctured. "Sigh, Yes Kenai. I'm fine." Koda said, knowing quite well of overprotected his brother could be. "Good, good." Kenai said, before he suddenly started looking around on their surroundings. "What is it?" Koda asked, but got no other answer then Kenai mumbling "Theses stones, that tree." to himself. "Koda." He said. "Yes?" Koda answered back. "I think you manage to roll us right to where we wanted to get." Kenai said, and pointed to the bushes where Koda had recently been stuck in. "You mean that this here is....?" Koda asked, with Kenai finishing his sentence "Where the berries grow? Yes."
"If this is where the berries grow then what are we waiting on?" Koda asked, as he wanted to get to taste those berries once again. "Given how thick everything here is grown together I don't think we will get in there so easy." Kenai said, and felt on how many branches there was lapped over each other. "We have to get a way inside!" Koda said, and started to try and claw his way through it. Kenai was about to tell him how hard that would be since Koda was still just a cub, when Rutt & Tuke finally managed to catch up to them. "Good thing you are here. Could you two see if there is any way in to this that might be easier to go through?" Kenai asked them, as they started to walk around the small area. Kenai was trying to tell Koda that they needed to first know were they where growing the least amount of branches before starting to make an entrance, when the moose's shouted for them to get over to them on the other side. Once there they all saw that there was a huge hole that had been made by force. Not knowing what could have made it, they still decided to go in through it.
Once they entered they where in for a HUGE surprise. It was that black bear from before, except he was now about 5 times his original size! Since the bear had the time to get there before them he had been taking his time to eat EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE BERRIES there was growing in area, and unlike Koda or the female bear the berries had made much more then his belly grow. He had his arms and legs expanding out largely, as well as his back and behind, and even his head and face was bloated up by the berries. Already being a pretty big bear he now stood on a height of 12 feet when on all four, and if he could stand on two legs he would tower over them with 16 feet. And just by looking on him you would have believed he was at least 400 pounds heavier then before. (But since most of his extra size was filled by air his weight wasn't much changed.)
"YOU?!" They all four said shocked at the same time about seeing him. "Yes, it's me." He said, sounding like his ego had been swelling up as much as the rest of him. "And the berries?!" Koda asked, hoping there was something left. "I ate them all." He said, licking his lips to really mocking them.
"And now I'm hungering for bear cub desert." He said, before rushing up towards them. They where to surprised seeing him being able to move so quickly with his inflated body to escape the place. Instead once close enough the black bear took and slapped them with one of his huge paw knocking Rutt and Tuke out, and sending Kenai and Koda flying into the bushes to the side. He then took and blocked the entrance with his body to make sure none of them gets out and looks over at Kenai, that is the first one to get up and trying to fight back. "You will not touch my little brother!" Kenai shouted, rushing towards the black bear with full force. Not planning this out to well Kenai didn't notice the black bear standing up on his hind legs, and once Kenai did look up all he saw was a big black bear belly being sent towards him as a counterattack. Being told that the force of Koda's belly had managed to knock that bear out before, made Kenai realized for a split-second before it happen that "This is going to hurt a lot." The black bear didn't spare any force sending his gut hitting the smaller bear with as much pain as possible. The collision has such big power that it sent Kenai leaving the ground, and fly straight towards on of the big trees surrounding the place.
Just as that happen Koda manage to wake up himself, just to see his brother getting knocked hardly into the tree and fall down on the ground. "Kenai!" He shouted and tried to get up from laying on his back, when he felt something being pressed down hardly on his belly. It was the black bear's paw. It really hurt Koda, as he could feel how the air inside of him literally was being forced out. He could both see and feel how the balloon belly he loved so much was shrinking and disappearing. The worst part of it was that since he was being pinned by the black bear there was nothing he could do about it, or to save himself.
That is until he felt something familiar touch one of his paws, that he had reached inside the bushes. Grabbing it, and pulling it closer to him he saw that it was a branch filled with at least 20 big berries on it. "He didn't manage to eat them all!" Koda thought, and was on his way to eat them when he stopped himself. What good would this do? He was still getting deflated by the evil bear, so eating them during this situation would just be a waste.
An idea entered his head as he looked at the branch again, and he took and hide it behind his head. Once he and the black bear could feel that his belly was completely emptied of air the black bear went down closer face to face to Koda. "Now when I have made you flat it will become much more easier to eat you." He said and started opening his mouth widely, preparing to devour the cub. "Eat this, blimp!" Koda shouted before tossing the branch with the berries into the bear's open mouth, and down it's throat. The bear stopped what he was doing first to swallow what was inside his throat, and then to look at the cub and mock him. "You just wasted your last glimpse of hope. You only gave yourself more room inside of me for you to roll around in. You..." The bear stopped when he felt strange, like the ground his paws was standing on was...vanishing?!
Looking down he saw that he was actually starting rise from the ground and up into the sky. It seems that eating the absolute last berries made him so inflated and light that he couldn't keep his body down because of it's light weight. Desperately he dug his front paws claws into the ground so to not disappear into the sky. He could feel his whole body rising more and more, and that he was now only held back by the ground his claws where stuck into. Hearing a small whistle he looked in front of him to stare into the eyes of a very smug looking Koda. "Please no." Was all the bear could say, pleading for his life. "Have a nice trip." Was Koda's response before turning around and kicking the black bear in the face with his hind legs, making the much bigger bear lose his grip and flying up. He tried to grab some branches from the trees next to him, but with no luck. As he got higher up he was caught up by the wind, sending him away to places far away from here. "And don't come back!" Koda shouted to the bear blimp flying away, as he heard his brother and the moose's starting to wake up. "Ugh, what happen?" Kenai asked. "I got deflated and sent that bear away high up into the sky." Koda answered like it was the most normal thing to say. Feeling he had a bit of a head pain from hitting the tree Kenai decided to not ask any more questions, and just go with it.
As they made their way back home Koda couldn't help but hang his head low as they walked. "What's wrong Koda?" Kenai asked. "It's just not fair that once I finally found the place where these berries grows in big number that big bully had to come and eat them all for himself!" Koda said sad. "But lets just remember this place, and then next year we can come back and you can have as many of those berries as you want." Kenai said, comforting him. "I guess after a while I would have lost my air anyway." Koda said, before realizing something. He leaned over to his brother to whisper "Do you think they to will be able to find a way to lose their bellies?" He asked, referring to Rutt & Tuke and their water filled stomach. And as they finally entered familiar territory Rutt took the word and said, "I think I can find my way here, so go on you others while I take care of some...Buisness." Before running of behind a bush with his legs shaking of him really needing to go. "I think I to have some business's that needs to be done." Tuke said and followed his friends way of walking funny and hiding behind a bush. "I think they just found their way." Kenai said, advising his brother to just continue walking with him and leaving the two moose's to do the things that needed to be done.
As they finally reached the place where the other bears where staying Koda thought about why he had even left in the first place. He wanted to quicker becoming a bigger bear, and be treated like an adult. And while those berries had helped him growing outwards, it was all the knowledge of how to survive, and being able to defend himself against a much bigger treat that made Koda realize that he himself already was a pretty great and big bear. And even though those berries had made him feel better, he knew that he didn't need to look like a full-grown bear to really feel like one.
