Narokh's Armorer Challenge commission
" One requiring both protection and light weigh to make flight possible? Well, this is no simple task for a smith, even one as myself. But it is possible, if one knows what metal to use. And if your customer has a heavy purse filled with coin.
Mithril, sometimes referred to as 'Elven steel', ironically for it is mostly Dwarves who mine it, is stronger than tempered steel yet light and has a near silver-like color and shine to it. Easy to forge once you get your hands to it, providing you know what to do. Rare to see in combat, for the metal is precious and expensive, so one can see a lot of mithril-forged weapons and armor alike simply decorating a rich-man's mansion. But not this armor.
Shaped to allow movement, deflect and downright take on blows and strikes, all while certainly providing protection to most vital areas. Combined with the lightness of the armor, this suit is more valuable than the yearly income of a duke. Also, the armor comes with a custom designed shield that is ideal for parrying and quick blocking, but also seconds as a mighty striking weapon, thanks to the shape and the way it is held; but mostly due to the spike at the end of it.
Along comes a mighty blade, not too heavy, not too big, ideal for quick strikes and devastating stabs. Stripped of complex ornaments to favor functionality and effectiveness. In skilled hands, this blade will cut down many a foe.
While none can deny the protection mithril provides, it's effectiveness relies much on the user. Now, I do not doubt for a second that YOU have any trouble putting it to good use... "

narokh , for the Armorer Challenge!
I had a lot of fun designing this armor, and I got to play around with a lot of shield ideas before settling for this functional, if not unusual, design. The character already looked badass before, let's hope this made him even more so n.=.n

white the plate-covered areas are protected, the thing that raises my allarms are
the same weakneesses that brought down the uruk-hai in the two towers.
There are 3 major areas there struck deep enough, death is ensured, theese locations are:
-the head
-the heart
-just above the groin, as there is one of the biggest veins, and if a stray arrow ruptures that, no ammount of holy
magic will prevent you leaking out like a baloon in 1-2 minutes before passing out and later dying.
then there is the armpit area, under the shoulders, the elbow joint and wrist that are exposed,
wich all of those bleed furiously when struck.
While the Astethics of the armor is overrall cool, the implitations in combat would
only crump the owner harder than the french knights in the Battle of Agincourt
the solution is: Chainmail

Well, this is not about realistic protection, practicability or historical accuracy, but mainly the cool looking aesthetics you already mentioned.
As someone with a lot of WH40k Space Marine Power- and Terminator armor in their gallery, you surely understand that right?

Youre right, it does look good, and if that's the goal the outcome is real nifty
But Space Marine and Terminator armor is one of the most effective ive ever seen, even weaknesses are More
effective than most of today's tank armor, and the Terminator armor can survive a tactical nuke explosion.
If you refrain to the Chaos's appearance deviation, as skulls and horns and stuff like that, its mainly to worship the dark gods
and psychological warfare, where both of those reasons are effective in making that armor even better than usual SM armor, despite
the obvious age gap

The jab at Space Marine and especially Terminator armor was more some design points than the effectiveness. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big 40k fan and love the power armor looks (playing Marines myself), but some things are just outright silly, impractical or almost unusable.
The biggest issue of that kind is probably Terminator armor (again, I love the designs myself) - have you seen arm placement? To actually fit into the armor's arms, the shoulders would have to be dislocated a good deal behind. The regular power armor's codpiece and how the legs come from it make it almost impossible to stand in a relaxed upright position, shoulders would seriously get in the way even while being "autoreactive", etc.
Marine Power/Terminator armor is damn awesome, has a believably high amount of protection and whatnot. But it's still a prime example of fantasy/fantastic armor that would be unlikely to work in reality. And I personally wouldn't have it any other way!

I did a quick search on the space marine terminators and i see your point,
GW has no idea how human anatomy works, it seems...
i injested a 450% daily value of vitamin b12 in the last 2-3 hours, and my heart
is going to explode, so i get nitpicky real fast, im sorry if i pushed too hard
