This gryphon arose from a conversation recently with  finchcat where she suggested a gryphon based on the super cool species of parrot known as the red fan parrot or the hawk-headed parrot. We weren't really sure what would work as the rear end of the gryphon but I got permission to play around with the concept. I ended up going with a rather dark phase of the white-nosed coati -- coatis are smart, dextrous, and mischievous (they're members of the raccoon family) and that seems to fit well with a parrot!

Anyway, this was a fun little doodle - not a polished/finished piece by any means but really fun to work on. Single sitting, 3-4 hours. All credit for the idea goes to  finchcat . Wouldn't this guy be a fun suit?!
