While visiting the Black Hills of South Dakota, we came across a place where the chipmunks would literally run right up to you. I have seen squirrels do this, but never chipmunks.

South Dakota is a nice place to visit. Alot of wilderness and open fields. But, chipmunks are eveywhere in the USA and in North America. There could be other places where they do not mind people.
