Meet the leothauns. What are they, you ask? They are critters created by . These mammals live on planet Quadralis, and are divided into a number of subspecies corresponding to different elements of the world. Every member of the subspecies usually has limited control over the element they are born in, but once in a blue moon, a leothaun is born with an abundance of recessive genes. This makes the leothaun into a powerful elemental wielder, comparable to superheroes.

Zetana, here, is from the Tempest subspecies. They reside in a city in the sky, and can control the nastier side of weather with their moods and feelings. Zetana was born was excessive recessive genes, resulting in a lack of hair (on her head), darker fur than her other tempest bretheren, and larger darker spots on her body.

As such, she has the absurd ability to fire lightning from her fingertips, and summon lightning storms at her whim. This was discovered at an early age, where another tempest, Xandus, shared similar recessive traits and powers. At the time, he was a respected elder, and offered to mentor Zetana on how to better control the power she possessed.

As time passed, Xandus became corrupt with his own power, and took control of a small legion of equally corrupt religious fanatics who were interested in after-death experimentation. They wanted not only to reanimated corpses, but give them horrific natural weapons to fight any who oppose them. Their method included an ancient Relic that could mutate organic flesh into whatever it desired...

Leading this legion of religious nutjobs, Xandus brought them to the Tempest city, and had them kidnap Zetana for experimentation. She already had extraordinary power, he wanted to 'upgrade' her in a way.

Halfway through experimentation, Zetana was rescued by a group of unlikely heroes consisting of a few lombaxes and a cazar. She now travels with this group on their adventures, hoping to some day find Xandus and end his life for good.

She always wears a chunk of the Ancient Relic around her neck, because if she didn't, she would unwillingly transform into a horrific monstrousity capable of absorbing organic matter and the power it possesses. With the shard around her neck, she has control over her 'dark' experimental form, able to morph her body at will, either in parts or in whole.
