I'll say. It's just uplifting and funny, exactly the type of thing I wish I wrote more of.
Horny-brain days makes me think of a Larry Niven novel I recently read, Protector, which has an alien race with three major life stages: child, breeder, and protector. The breeder stage is described as hazy and not characterized by deep reflective thought, haha.

Sounds like something I should read! Have to see if my library has it, been years since I last canvassed the shelves for anything beyond new books from a couple authors I've been keeping up with. (Taylor Anderson's Destroyermen series, where the crew of the steam-destroyer Walker pass through a strange storm from WW2 onto an alternate Earth; and the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, stories revolving around the life of Mercy, the coyote-shifter VW mechanic and her encounters with a wide variety of other supernatural creatures, from werewolves to more exotic things!)
