This is the guinea pig that is ill right now and that I may lose within 24 hours. It breaks my heart everytime because with these little critters there really is no saving them. You can try but they're just too small and sensitive. I'll be giving her lots of love and cuddles and scratches and I just hope she isn't in any pain :C Poor baby. What I really hope is that she will recover.
I picked her out for her beautiful coat. White with all agouti coloring. She has a very pretty silver agouti coloring along with lovely shades of brown and bronze. This piggy is so pretty, sweet, energetic, explorative. I really hate the thought of losing her so soon, she isn't even 2 years old :C

Awww, she's a pretty piggie ;;
I had a guinea pig a few years back that would go through some terrible sick spells. He'd get weak, wouldn't be able to really move much, and we kept worrying we'd lose him. Turns out he had a heart condition, but he managed to keep pulling through them with a bit of babying.
IDK what the cause is, but definitely keep her comfortable and try to get her at least to stay hydrated. She may pull through ;w; But if not, at least she will be very comfortable and loved.

From what I can tell it's a respiratory infection, which usually means they won't last long afterwards. That's always the biggest killer for small critters like guinea pigs and birds :c Poor baby. She isn't able to drink or eat. When it gets to this stage they can't actually swallow. She's drooling a bit. cuz the infection clogs up their pipe and prevents them from really swallowing anything. I wish all my piggies would die of old age but they all die from random out-of-the-blue respiratory infections. I can never figure out why. The conditinos are always the same. They're in a clean home and the yhave food and water and they are supplemented vitamin c. The only thing different this time around was my bro not feeding or giving them water for 4 days so I am pretty sure that is what caused or triggered this infection :C Poor baby looks so uncomfortable!
Poor dear. ;; Not even trying to get some water in her with an eyedropper? We had to get Mojo to eat and drink that way, he sounded about as rough as she is, though it probably doesn't work for all.
Best you can do then is keep her comfortable and content, at the very least. ;w; I'm hoping for you and your wheekwheek!

I'm sorry this happened. I only lasted with a cat for a year sadly So I understand losing a pet. If she doesn't get better, I'll make a drawing of her in her memory. You are a awesome person, a good fursuit maker, and Smores is happy for you! May she live on in other pets you have...
I absolutely love guinea pigs, but you are right, they are very sensitive animals. What I'm hearing about the symptoms sounds like her blood sugar might be low from lack of food, so you could try squirting some tang mixture into her mouth. She is relatively young and it is unusual for them to not bounce back. But I don't know without other symptoms. I've raised numerous guineas over the years and this sounds like a male I had once that would stop eating when stressed and I would have to make a mixture of tang and a paste made from ground timothy pellets to keep his blood sugar up to get him to eat again. I know it's a shot in the dark, but it might be something
I think it's a respiratory issue :c She has discharge from her eyes and nose, she cannot stand up and she is drooling. With respiratory issues in piggies it's like the infection causes a buildup of mucus in the throat and they are unable to swallow. so they end up drooling and they stop eating or drinking because they can't swallow anything :c poor baby. There's also a weird odor everytime this happens and I believe it's from the infection/mucus. :c So far all my guinea pigs have passed away due to this condition at random ages so it's not super suprising to me now after having pigs for nearly 10 years but it's sad for sure ;w;
I've had that exact same problem. My last 5 guinea pigs I lost to those symptoms. I had a necropsy done on one of them and the vet said it was a virus that would trigger when there was upper respiratory distress. We never had that problem until I purchased a guinea pig from a new breeder and it spread through my younger animals because they had been housed in the same room. I couldn't get them to live past 3 yrs. Before that, my guineas' average lifespan was 7 yrs. I'm sorry to hear that she has that kind of infection.
