Got this in the post today, so I couldn't resist suiting up as the Big Bad Wolf to pose with it! It's a "Capitol Record-Reader" adaptation of Disney's "Three Little Pigs" from 1949. It was originally issued on two vinyl "Superflex" 78-RPM discs, but this one was issued onto a single "extended play" 45 (as my Numark phonograph isn't really designed for playing 78s (sapphire microgroove stylus, you know), and having the whole thing on a single 45 makes it easier to play and transport.) It is narrated by Don Wilson, and unlike the Disneyland Records read-alongs, it actually has the original voice cast from the 1930s Disney cartoons! (like Billy Bletcher as the wolf, and Pinto Colvig as Practical Pig) It's also a rather faithful adaptation to the original cartoon, though of course it omits the Wolf's infamous Jewish Peddler disguise.
Hmm, I'm thinking of bringing this and a few other records to the Maltese Fur Con at some point...
