missmab has, for a while now, been doing 'design a character by committee' convention panels... otherwise known as 'failure of democracy' panels, where strange and wonderful (well, at least strange) characters get created by people tossing out ideas and voting on them. Miss Yuki Snow at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9911283/ was one of the previous results; the characters usually get auctioned off as adoptables at the charity auction later in the con.
So, one of the results from the panel held at FA:United 6 was Janelle, a four armed 'sexy librarian' deer with dreadlocks and a clouded leopard's tail. (And other features that don't show in more modest pictures.) I won her in the charity auction, and
missmab said she'd draw the character for me as well.
Me, knowing what the artist's sense of humour was like, and having an occasionally quirky one myself, asked for 'Janelle chastising a much larger Jenora for being overdue with her library book returns'. Just because the mental image of yelling at someone multiple stories tall was amusing.
And this is the result. Right down to the slight sweatdrop on Jenora's left temple.
Jenora by me, Janelle by committee but now me, art by
missmab.
Adding this later, just to have the basic description of Janelle in one place, here's the actual results of the panel:
- Voluptuous
- Deer/clouded leopard hybrid
- Sexy librarian look
- Short but neat dreads
- Super fluffy tail
- Digitigrade hybrid
- Four arms
- Clouded leopard tail
. Spots fading to deer
. Spots on hips and collarbone
- Horn-rimmed glasses
- Blend of deer and leopard colours
- Hazel eyes
- Rich purple hair
- Butterfly marking on pubic bone

Honestly, I think very few would not find the idea of a micro chastising a macro amusing. (Well, at least in settings where the macros respect the micros as people)

I don't know, actually. I think an initial sketch was done, at least. I could ask him; I'm almost certainly going to see him this weekend at
conditionfurry.

Yeah, it would be five years before I got another picture of her (which happened then in part because another friend was complaining about people who got adopts and then ignored them), and another couple of years before I developed a proper world background for her that I described in full on this image.
I've had a few more images of her done since then, with one short story involving her done and another in progress.
