That thar is called a Yellow Sac spider. Be careful with these guys. they have a cytotoxic bite, same stuff the brown recluse has and they are more agressive and apt to use it. I'm terrified of spiders so I study them. one of my weird little quirks *head tilt grin*

This is a long-jawed orbweaver. It's harmless. Yellow sac spiders are also likely harmless. The data doesn't support that they have necrotic bites when reviewed further.

really? I had read that they were actually the culprit for purposed brown recluse bites more often than not. interesting. As said, I do spiders only because they actually terrify me and it's therapy to learn about them. im no expert.

More often than not, it's not a spider at all. Just a cultural predisposition to label any skin lesion of unknown origin as a "spider bite".

When actually looking at true, verified cases of bites, yellow sac spiders don't cause issues.
