Story:
Utsukushi chuckles and growls as she chases me through the Main Hall of the mansion, “Caiden-kun, get back here!”
Shaking my head, my velocity increases as I rush past the kitchen and enter my playroom, plush toys and game controllers flying around in my wake. “Hehe! I’s high as a kite! Dat soda was super super awesome! WAHOO!” My giggles and enjoyment increases as a purple aura inches outward, surrounding me within seconds and burring as I speed past Utsukushi and begin bouncing on the couch. “SO MUCH FUN! SO MUCH ENERGY! Hehe…hehe…HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!”
Utsukushi sighs as she watches me bounce up and down, my aura pulsating wild with my rapid movement, “Oh my goodness, how much soda did I give him? I only gave him three bottles. He was insistent….and well….Hell hath no fury as Caiden crying. Hehe…now how the heck am I going to get him to calm down?”
Giggling and smiling, I take to the air and land in Utsukushi’s lap, giggling. “Utsu-neechan! Utsu-neechan! Let’s play! Let’s play!” Sugar coursing through my veins, replicating like a rampant virus, drives my playful mood as I grab her hand and drag her into the South Wing. When we reach the dual football field sized area, I find nothing but golden fields and white walls imprisoning them. Preceding a forensic examination of the area, I release Utsukushi’s hand and bolt toward the fields, kneeling down at the beauty once surrounded by it, “So cool! It’s like the sun duplicated itself.”
Utsukushi sighs as she approaches the golden grassland and her eyes glow red. “AHH! Finally!” She smiles as a chair pulls itself out of the ground and invites her to rest. Sitting down, she watches me waddling around the fields, coming to sit in front of her and scan the multitude of butterflies migrating toward us, “Caiden-kun, you certainly have a lot of energy. Heh, off he goes.” She chuckles as I toddle after the butterflies, excitement etched in my countenance as they dance across the sky, comingling with me in short bursts.
“Utsu-neechan! Utsu-neechan!” Smiling, I run toward her, a red and blue flower held close to my chest, “Utsu-neechan,” I raise the flower to her face, “Look at what I found! Look at what I found! It’s a different type of plant entirely! Most of the flowers I’ve seen are either entirely flame red or aqua blue. They’re either Dragon’s Bane or Water’s Bell flowers, these though,” Eyeing the flower, I giggle and place it on the ground, “they’re lots different that those other two plants. I mean look at the petals!” Plopping down on the my tummy, I scan the plant close, my tail fluttering behind me, detecting the wind’s movements, “This plant has multiple blooms, I see seven in all. Normally flowers only have one, this plant not only has seven blooms, but each bloom has seven petals.”
Scanning her face, I tilt my head, eyes closed while my brain churns, “So, whaddya think?”
Utsukushi scans the mysterious offspring of the fields then faces me, the plant lowered back into my hands, “I’m uncertain, Caiden-kun, but I can tell you this, it does have some unique properties.” Blue light flickers between her green and blue eyes attempting to detect the flowers intricacies, “Yet, I can’t find the source, I can’t……I don’t know, it’s unique, but I can’t tell, other than the fact of it having forty-nine petals and seven blooms. I can’t detect the other properties.”
“You mean….it’s like the plant has a….a security device?” My eyes fall on the flower as I tuck it underneath a blanket of dirt, “I don’t understand...how could a plant?” Reclining to my back, a content sigh leaves me as the warm caress of the winds, and gentle golden grasses embrace me, “It doesn’t make sense, for us to stumble upon something on our own world that we don’t understand.” Eyes tracking the plant again, red light races around me, fading seconds later with no result, “Still nothing, it’s unique alright.”
Utsukushi smiles as I climb into her lap and stare into those differential pools of light, “So let me guess, Caiden-kun, you couldn’t find out anything either?”
Crossing my arms, my eyes find the sky while my lips puff outward, “Of course I didn’t it! We’re linked remember? Plus, your Zentalis abilities are twenty times stronger than mine. If YOU couldn’t find anything….how do you expect me to have success?”
“I guess you’re right, little brother.” She sighs as her hands message my hair, “One good thing though, of all the properties I wasn’t able to ascertain, I did figure this out, it’s not a threat. That’s ALL I was able to find out, from all that scanning. In all honesty, I think that the plant’s locked out for a reason. Maybe, maybe we aren’t meant to go any further with it.”
“Humph,” Hopping free of her lap, I lie down on my stomach, scanning the golden fields again before finding my back and a butterfly resting on my nose, “that figures, Utsu-neechan. Whenever you find something that’s unusual, it’s either locked, or extremely hard to access. Hehe…although,” I crawl toward the plant’s resting place and smile as it flutters in the wind, matching my tail’s movement, “It is beautiful, and it’s probably best that its secrets are kept locked away. You’re accounting is probably correct, as it is always, Utsu-neechan. It’s beauty is enough. It’s beauty…that’s all that matters.”
