While on the subject of detectives, I created this character years ago but did little with her. It was when I was crazy about building Japanese kits of handguns, and had just built the .357 Colt in the background (although mine is dull silver grey plastic, not chrome). Colt was actually a cyborg, more like the Six Million Dollar Man than Lt. Data. She appears in one story in which she is a visiting the world's oldest SF fan, but it wasn't revealed that she was a detective in the pages I actually finished penciling. After four I got bored and let it go.
