We made our first fore into the convention scene lats year in 2013 when we peeked in for a day at the local CaliFur event. Very busy and exhausting, and the biggest thing we took away from it all was the need for a place to retreat and recharge. We tried again this year for the 2014 convention and did a little better with an on-site room, 2 days of attendance, plus a guest - though we still managed to miss out on the whole social aspect again!


At any rate, the first time around I printed out a pretty picture of Shato to wear as a badge, but she was uncomfortable with it. She's not at ease with expressing her femininity in public, so this time around I had this bade commissioned, sans the chest-orbs. This is actually a valid physiological configuration at one point during her cycle, but it doesn't appear much because lets be honest - the full package (covered or not) is far more enjoyable for everyone *smiles*


Thus we ended up with a nice gender-neutral image as we had planed, which she was...well, only marginally less reluctant to wear this time around, hehe. One step at a time I guess right? Being scaly in a public place is new for us, on top of all the other stuff that's going on at such gatherings. Next time we make an attempt at a con I think we are only going to do it if we can hook up with a well know friend/group of friends who are experienced con goers and know how to navigate such social affairs
