love the composition, the subtle handdone gradientness and the red blursmear from feathers and also his foot-- as if he tried to grab hold of the sun er something like a jewel, despite you know, the fable being the other way around and the sun getting to close and all~it's a nice juxtaposition to keep the viewer thinking about the sequence/story around the piece, verrynice
I'd probably add some texturing to explain the pose/ posture-- maybe he's splayed on gravel, dirt or desert sand? But I still like it without all that too you know. It's abstract enough it can easily ignore at least ONE of the X, Y or Z planes. Anyway in my visualwishinworld I'd add texture to everything until I passed out from sensory overdose so I'm glad this isn't my piece to fuck to death .-.

I couldn't remember offhand, but I looked it up: http://www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=3908 Somewhat Damaged, from The Fragile. Just the one piece of the lyrics got stuck in my head while I was painting, though!
