Did I ever mention how much I hate getting acrylics to show up on a screen? Photographing them makes it shiney, scanning them (like here) makes them... well... it's like you can see real good where the paint is thinner than on other places. WHY?
Okaaay, an Australian numbat. I'm not sure about the shape of the head. Numbats are weird creatures. Their fur is really scruffy, like the tail here, but I didn't know how to get the rest of his body look that scruffy. Hm. Ah well, sort of a... thing to keep me busy and try out some stuff. I want to make a series of different countries on this paper and before I started colouring China (I have inked it), I thought I'd try out the paper some more, because with the last drawing it turned out it didn't hold markers. But it holds a mass of acrylics and water pretty well, so that's okay. I coloured the circle with these tiny micro pens because I wanted to give the idea of a grain, like it's on wood or stone.
Blablabla, lots of talk. Mixed media on paper, 21x31 cm.
