Hehe you will see xD I was still debated about making the realistic painful reaction as i did in a previously commissioned short-comic...
But it could probably prolong the time..
However i think i could have found a solution...

It's all in the title... "mating circle..." something of real (because male cheetah "circle" lonely females to court them) but also something from the novel series of Ratha (ps you read them?)

I just wanted to ask if last chapters of Ratha's Courage had any influence, but you have already answered it.
In this case it's funny that ThakurCat is mentioned too :D

Haha well... not a coincidence xD we know each others and share some taste for animal adult stuff...
and he started a general love for animal literature with Ratha (while i discovered it only recently).

If i have to be honest, it's possibly more on an hint also in "Tomorrow Sphinx" there too there is mentioned cheetah coalitions and mating circles (but not as a negative thing), even if there is not a full mating scene as in the series, there are 1,2+ implied and another interrupted (and probably kept on).

BTW: there is no need to be on secret-like stuff. I was thinking to make the "reversed mating circle" as something that not just can put more power in the males lust and fertility, but it also put the females in a different status that make them barely able to get pain (they're so horny that can't think about it and recognize it xD)

Now I want to read Tomorrow's Sphinx even more. Too bad there is no e-book edition of it.
Looking forward to see what happens next.

Hehe it's a very nice book...
It has some fascinating elements (first part with hard rules of survival in cheetah world, later a good deal of mystery).
It's not perfect and it has some minor weak point (baically that LOTS it's explained/revealed only at the end, and that there is a character a bit forced as antagonist).

In the book it's shown well how female cheetah rise their kits alone, having absolutely no clue about the real fatherhood of the cub: she (as in real-life) is found by coalition of males and mated by all the males.
This is mentioned some times, and shown one time (even if never in full detail as in Ratha).

It's also a pity that the female protagonist doesn't go much in depth asking or discovering what at first puzzled/scared her of sexuality and mating.

However at some point a character it's implied to have been put on sort-of privileged breeding with many females by the humans xD

PS: I've recently also finished reading "Bonechewer's Legacy", and it can be found into a kindle e-book antology.
A pretty cool short story, important for the whole series, even if it has a pair of very very minor canon-issues.

Except one thing: how did you get the book? I think, in the US it would not be a problem, but I live kinda far from there. I'd like to buy an e-book version as I did with Ratha series, but it's not available for Tomorrow's Sphinx and I'm not sure that it will be soon. So maaaybe I'll order it somehow, I don't know yet. But now I really consider such a possibility.

Um.. actually i'm italian and have the same problem..
But there isn't actually because expedition cost often it's not much high..
Can't remember the cost (should check it) but it wasn't much, found it as used, and without a big expedition cost.

Haha yeah, but half of them are 1-2 grammar correction each page each time xD and everytime something it's missed!

Not yet sadly. Moreover i know also of just (for now) mature project she did. I think it's some more human yaoi. And there should be front-page in her DA gallery (i've never seen it, i think it's in the hands of the commissioner)

I don't think I've ever read a comic with cheetahs as main characters, they are such gorgeous felines <3

One of the main reasons for the comic was exactly because there was no cheetah comic online xD
