This is the first of three thank you gifts I've been working on. Josh and I recently took a trip to Virginia for a wedding and three families were kind enough to welcome us into their homes for the festivities, room and board, and even a late night swim. All and all, the trip was great, but only because of their generosity.

This is for the lovely couple that volunteered to let us sleep in their spare room. They had two Beagles, Rupert and Max. Rupert only likes you when you're holding food, and Max just liked to bark every time someone transversely from outside to inside and vice versa. He was pretty cool though, so I drew a picture to honor him.

Initially I was debating on dressing him as a skipper (because of the decor in their home) or as a pilot (because the gentleman of the house is a pilot). Both ideas involved Aviator sunglasses, so I just simplified it and went with this.

This is also one of the first attempts I have made at digital painting on my new iPad. I think it went pretty well! Now, to figure out what I will be drawing for the other two families...
