Ahh, the windows in my current pad, don't open. Stinks when it's nice outside but I've a strong insect poison designed for wasps. Instant kill and it dissipates after four hours but, if you spray that in your house, if one clothes. Those need to be washed.
*Reels the little bat backwards into my embrace and hugs him tight* You're too adorable, you know that? Don't worry though, I can assure you that no butterly of massive mayhem and destruction can get to you when I'm holding you. I almost feel guilty for saying this, but this little comic of yours made me giggle like crazy. You must have the cutest phobia ever <3
And I live in Florida so we have tons of flying roaches. The German cockroaches and the Palmetto roaches are both flyers. The German variety are not as bad as the Palmettos because Palmettos will actually try to attack if they feel threatened and they can bite through skin pretty easy. One chased my aunt around for a few minutes all over her living room when I was like in my teens; it didn't stop till she closed the bedroom door on it and it sat on the other side waiting for her. XD
As for Junebugs, they are kinda intimidating but rather harmless in since they don't bite nor spread diseases. Never heard of craneflies but I know yellow flies are annoying also since they can bite and spread some diseases as well as the bite marks itch like crazy and burn.

It's times like this I'm TRULY grateful I live in a country that has such dull wildlife! (Oh God! Some of these things FLY? )
Craneflies (or Daddy Long Legs' as we call them here) are pretty dopey, harmless and quite pointless - they do, however, provide endless hours of entertainment for the cat. She's yet to meet a roach as of yet...when she does, she's welcome to it!

I had a giant flying cockroach in my room once. First I heard scratches and black spot on a ceiling and thought it's just many mosquitos striking against it, but than I turn on the light and there was that THING. I'm not kidding it was huge, size of almost third part of palm (!) had black wings and sounded like little hellicopter when it start to fly AGAINST ME. I ran out of my room and sitted in ambush with sneaker in my hand all night long. I still do not know what the hell was that thing exactly!
I find it curious that those with fears of insects or similar are often portrayed as never trying to kill them. They always, if trying to confront the fear, do the glass-and-paper capture thing, or try to.
I have a fear of all the stinging insects. Was stung a lot as a child, so any buzzy buzzy bumblebees get me running and making all kinds of scaredie noises, and wasps especially cuz I know intellectually they're aggressive (unlike most bees). But if it's in my room, if I can't run away, I find something to attack it with. Like a can of air freshener or something. Anything that's an aeresolized spray to bog down it's wings. Then I kill it.
...Tangental note, I hate ants. Not scared, hate. THEY sent me to the emergency room for an antitoxin when I was a kid. I kill them with fire. :|
I'm pretty tolerant of all other bugs though. I say hello to the spiders in my room, when I see them. And stinging bugs outside get my fearful pass, so long as they aren't building a hive right outside my window. ... I will smear ant trails I spot outside though, if I can't take a moment to destroy the colony. Ants receive no sympathies from me.
Oddly Ant Bully is one of my favorite movies.
...I ramble a lot! :D I'm done.
