Part 2, the REAL final comic, sorry for the long delay!

Pinky, taking the long walk, assured from the artist's own mouth regardless of any comics I make taking place after this one.. this IS the last time Violet and Pinky ever see each-other. A sad thing to hear, I know. :' / I wish there was a way I could have drawn it out a little longer.. made it seem slower and more emotional, but it's pretty hard to do with a comic. I'm most reliant on the viewer him/herself reading it slowly, filling in gaps between panels with their imagination. that is if they really care THAT much about my dumb lil' story. ;) But looking just panel to panel it might seem like it wraps up kinda quick, I hope this ending doesn't feel anti-climactic to anyone. : c

The actual ending was up in the air for a while, some of you might remember the poll I held a while back asking people if they'd rather have Pinky get towed away while Violet watches or have Violet leave for her new apartment in the Camaro before Pinky is even taken away. At some point later, one of my friends sent me a link, sorry I don't remember who you were, to an old episode of The Wonder Years, an episode called 'the family car' which ends with a very similar situation as this comic with the family car being towed away to the dump while the family watches. It was an ending that really moved me and I still have times watching it and not wanting to tear up. So understandably, purposely or subconsciously, the ending of the Pinky comic ended up feeling a lot like the ending of that episode of The Wonder Years, even down to shot angles. <XD

If Pinky seems sorta unclear or mysterious towards the end then that's fine, I kinda meant it to be sorta mysterious and open to interpretation. But Pinky seems to be at peace, having had her closure with Violet, definitely the best it could have turned out. A moving scene being her thanking the heavens for giving her that closure. But that one simple smile that leaves the Camaro quite perplexed is a smile that I think will stay with him the rest of his life. Why did she smile, was it forgiveness? Not relating to him at all? Mocking him? Some pleading gesture? WHAT?!

Anyway, again I hope all of you have enjoyed this comic, it was a huge amount of work about 8 months total. o.o; If any of you feel compelled to leave feedback in summery of the whole comic or story in general I would of course love it, I always love hearing what you guys think. <: ]

- I wanna expand on Ernie's Disposal's workings as much as I can, since it is my favorite scene of the movie and quite a mysterious and unexplored company not even showing a single worker during the movie. So I thought it'd be really neat to show Hank communicating with the dispatcher on his CB radio. To do it realistically I had to search several sites to learn trucker codes and lingo. Hopefully I don't have any watchers who are real truckers and could spot any errors, but I'm PRETTY sure I got the codes and wordings down right there. <XD But pretty much all it's saying is that if you've got your cargo go ahead and return to base(the dump).

I would have liked to add some more personality to the cab of Hank's truck, like having it littered with candy wrappers, bags of chips and stuff like that.. but I never managed to get any good shots showing the seats or floors.. so I guess just assume that type stuff is there but off camera.


- How the comic ended with Violet and her father changed a little from the original draft. Originally I felt that people wouldn't really be hating on her Dad as much as they would on Hank, and that they wouldn't wanna be concerned about Pinky leaving the Brook's family in a big fight or despair. Originally Violet would shoot him the same mad clear, but then grudgingly let him take her under his arm so that you could tell she was mad with him but not beyond forgiveness. As I got to the ending though, I was kinda starting to feel that people either would be pretty pissed with him and thinking he deserves to be angry at, or be able to assume Violet would get over it eventually. ^^;


- This last detail is out of thanks and friendship for my very good friend ~phychoticsilence. If you look at any of the ending shots looking down the road of the neighborhood you'll see Jason's house on the right side of the road. Phychotic has been wonderful enough to do some gift-arts for me of Violet, and we've kinda for the fun of it made Jason and Violet childhood friends and thus kinda-sorta in the same universe. Jason is of course from her wonderful "Shifting Years" animated short which can be seen at her DA gallery.

This is totally something for you girl, and like everything I've looked at all the details here. I took screen-caps from your movie for references, used the correct colors for the outside of his house, I even used the very last shot of the movie showing the house across from his as reference as to what the house across the street from his house should look like here in the comic panel! Take a comparitive look girl, it's all correct. I even drew out his house entirely, at least my design for it, I thought that'd be neat to ya. I have Jason's window being the second floor on the left side.. at least in my mind. :)
