So I was encouraged to post some stuff that I felt less than excited about into scraps. So here is the first one.
I was going to pitch this narrative of Merdax inflating due to an idiotic wizard shooting fireballs at him (Merdax eats fire to get bigger, magic fire even more so). Unfortunately, I dont think there would be an appropriate way to crowdfund the cost it would take for me to get this finished.
So until pigs fly, here is the rough animatic.

Yeah, he is way better animated than drawn, although practically everything is better animated than drawn lol. I really love Merdax. I wouldnt necassarily say what he does is inflation though. Its more like absorption. He doesnt inflate like a balloon when he eats fire (although he does a bit in the beginning), he absorbs the power and energy of the fire and distributes it around his body via growing larger and getting stronger and muscular. You would have thought the wizard would have been smart enough to realize that by then lol.
I'm surprised this is something you're less than excited about - would I be right in assuming that's due to the significant amount of time it'd take to finish, rather than the content?
Either way, I like the concept behind Merdax, and am glad he got the opportunity to meet such an idiotic wizard. :> It would be very cool to see this finished one day (I'd even go so far as to say I'd put some money towards it if you did decide to try doing a crowdfunding thing!) though I'd entirely understand if you chose to focus on other projects instead.

Yes, its a time thing. If you are familiar with "opportunity cost", its the biggest reason why animation is rare on FA. It costs a lot of time and energy to make, time that I could spend making more random stuff that is easier as well as other projects in my non-FA life. I'm sure many artists here are animators, but they figure charging 50 bucks for a color drawing done in a bunch of hours is more profitable (and more likely to be commissioned more frequently) than a short animation costing 350 dollars.
If patreon or kickstarter have an easy, small project crowndfund capability (and if I have enough people interested) I will let you know.
