Okay, so I finally sat down and finished it: a badge for  Cosmik.
I am not terribly pleased with how it turned out on a number of levels.
1) I ignored the limitations of the medium and the method and tried to cut small details through multiple layers of card stock.
2) I went way overboard on detailing with the marks - so much so I had to give Cosmik an undershirt to cover up a lot of unnecessary marker work.
3) Eh... I just am not happy with it.
This is multiple pieces of card stock, individually cut and glued together with rubber cement and detailed with opaque markers. I like how the Union Jack turned out on the piano, but I really think better planning and layering would have resulted in an even better effect. That having been said, I was worried through parts of this that there would be too many layers and parts of this badge would be too thick. I feel that this ended in a good compromise over all. I am torn as to the white details added in marker, which could have been cut out - however, given the already fragile nature of the blue piece, in retrospect, I doubt that would have ended well.
Over all, this badge looks good from a distance. Still not pleased with it, so I made a second badge.
