car parts arrived, doggy dirty, shits running again. :>
Server network issues are still ongoing, but we have a plan to fix those soon. In the meantime, the car passed the inspection and should be all ready for Eurofurence. Only need to keep an eye on the drain screw. There was a tiny oil stain under the car this morning, but I spilled a fair bit on the block and the stone guard during the oil change. If the issue persists, I need to re-tighten the drain screw and/or have someone else take a look. Thanks so much to
wooshell and his friend for helping with the maintenance! <3
But hey, accomplished grin again!

p.s. In case any of the motor furs here know... copper sealing ring on the drain plug + aluminium oil sump. bad idea, if i already put it in? (Seems like there was only a steel washer and no sealing ring before - but I only noticed that after putting it back together because I thought the old ring fell into the pan to catch the old oil.)

Hmm, interesting. The way I learned it was to use a disposable hollow copper sealing rings that is crushed between the drain bolt head and the oil pan when you tighten the bolt. This way it sits flush against the surface even if there are minor irregularities. Some stores even give out free sealing rings like that when you buy oil filters. The surface on mine just looks like a small machined area around the drain hole.
Yesterday I tightened it about another quarter turn (which was easy to do... apparently I was kinda conservative the first time) and it didn't leak any over night.

yeah... but torque specs are kinda hard to come by because nothing comes with a maintenance manual anymore (and i haven't found an aftermarket manual from an independent publisher yet). Originally it was pretty tight. we even snapped a (cheap) wrench and bent a second one trying to open it. Now I've tightened it as much as i feel comfortable with without a torque wrench. If it leaks again, i'll go to a repair shop and ask them to tighten it properly (and discretely inquire about the correct torque...)
