Sitar? What's it like?

It is an Indian Instrument. I will post a few youtube videos of soem AWESOME players.

hehe well without anything on my paws it is painful for my pointer finger on me left paw because I am constantly running it up and down the melody string hehe..unlike guitar you play your tune on one string and the others are tuned to a chord that nearly constantly drone. Kind of like bagpipes but in string form hehe.

Show them bass players that no matter how they tune their bass they'll never match the masterful melodies of the sitar ;)

hehe...that is because the beauty of sitar is all in the bridge. it is pretty interesting how he sitar works. You know how if you don't push o na guitar string hard enough or if the frets are too close to the strings they buzz kind of like a sitar?...Well the brodge on the sitar is what does that constantly. I was quite happy to get one hehe.

And well...as far as hippie goes...Yeah I am more hippie than most considering I am a geology and Earth Science major as well as he sitar and stuff...but I am certainly not the biggest hippie i nthe self rightous and non-bathing kinda way lol. I'm also allot more of a prude than that, and I've NEVER touched weed :p...hehe

I was thinking more of a high quality recording you'd prepared - either something simple, "live", or perhaps featuring sitar prominently as part of a multi-instrument track, produced by yourself or another furry musician.

But yes, despite the audio quality there, I could quite happily listen to that for a good while. ^_^
