haven't really decided on the shield's front design but it is meant to be two that combine to one since having one full shield on his back would make thing more cumbersome as well half a shield makes it to a lighter shield though smaller. The shield also is meant to at a turn of a wrist make a gap to shot crossbows or grip enemy swords or spears.

the gauntlets of Thass's armor have interchangeable plates like the chest plates of his armor for adsorbing damage to one plate instead of the full part. the gauntlets also have secret containers in them for multiple uses like incense to assist in illusion magic, powder to make smoke for quick escapes, or to store letters.
