Thats a a remarkably deep thought, given that B1's were notoriously dumb, owing to the extreme cheapness of their design and construction, although there were exceptions. One B1, apparently with an upgraded cognitive modual, spent a few decades in a trash pile on Coracant, convinced that he was destined to rebuild the Galactic Empire, so they are apparently capable of being insane too

Idea.
He could have been built by a Jedi and stolen by the empire. Little did the Empire Know he was programmed to be a super droid spy. While in captivity he gained consciousness and overrode his own programming. His armor being enhanced and made from a Mandolorian metal called " Bescad" He is resistant to lightsabers and blaster bolts. He did his own research in to the Jedi order and downloaded all there texts in to his enhanced data base and slowly learned how to use the force. He now fights for freedom and a place in the new Jedi Order....

Ah well I already created a background story, but that's some interesting ideas though ^^
