It does happen, and it's not one of the proudest moments for any parent. You don't want to break down, especially not with the kids around. As a mom it's your job to be the strong one.

This will probably sound like an odd comment, but I'm impressed with the mature way you're handling this. Given the situation you've set up, too many other cartoonists, (if I might use that word), would have made it an excuse for sleazy cheap thrills. Instead, you've created characters with real personalities whose interactions go beyond merely being an excuse for them to have lots of sex together. Your storyline is funny, bittersweet, and real. I think most of us know what its like to try to help a friend who has hit hard times, and how it can go unintentionally sideways, which gives your comic an honest emotional resonance. There are no false notes here, no rank melodrama or crude exploitation of your characters. You are drawing an "adult" graphic story in the best sense of that abused word.

Lordie I FEEL for the poor roo lady. No shelter, kid, no support, and now she fears she just fragged up her friends life and its back to the car for her. WOW well done for making these critters about as real as us. I SO want to give the poor roo a HUG and a nicwequiet bedroom to rest in..and that really means you convey her troubles very well Rick.
