He can absorb power and turn it back at you, plus in most comics he has a gun from 2100 or thereabouts that shoots powerful blasts of energy. Bishop is from a future timeline, when most of the X-Men are dead and he is at least based on the original cartoon a tracker hunting down other mutants.
