Soo yeah I just shot my first wedding :)
The bride is my niece and they didn't want to spend a fortune on the wedding so enlisted family to help out where ever possible. I think it's nice to involve everyone as it makes it a really nice family event and wedding photography seems to be one of the staples of the professional photographer so it was nice to have the opportunity to give it a try. Everyone seems very happy with the pictures but I feel there are some I'd have done differently on reflection but that's all part of learning I suppose. They seem happy with them which is a relief for me. I was cacking myself the few days before if I'm honest. I'm not sure I'd want to make a living out of doing it any time soon though.
Full album is on flickr if anyone is interested https://www.flickr.com/photos/bshep.....57646199879871
Hopefully in the next few days I should be getting their wedding gift. a 98 page photo book full of memories of their big day.

Yeah I wasn't allowed to use flash in church and some were a bit noisy and in colour it wasn't very pretty but it's not as noticeable in black and white. I'm also colour blind so I find it easier to work in mono if I can get away with it with the subject matter. Fursuits are a bit different and I cant justify flipping them to mono unless I'm using flim in which case I only shoot black and white.
I would totally have used my flash anyway^^ The couple wants to get proper photos afterall! Besides, I looooooove pissing off religious people, especially priests X3
You are colour blind? That is very interesting since you are a photographer... Your colour photos do look nice though, so you are doing a good job there^^

Yeah I don't think i was supposed to shoot them actually signing the register either but I did. I managed to wangle it without flash so it wasn't too bad. Yeah the vicar was a bit snarky with my sister (the brides mother) and even called them by the wrong surname just after she'd married them. The wedding was booked for 2pm and she was complaining she wanted to start at 1:45 before all the guests had arrived then pretty much told us to get out of the way straight after so they could get ready for the next wedding so we didn't get all the group shots we really wanted and what we did we rushed with my sister helping me marshall everyone. I don't have time for the church myself but thankfully I was too busy to have to sit and sing :D
Colourblindness is a strange thing. for years I thought my bike was blue and yellow and it turned out to be purple and green but it wasn't until someone told me so. Still I try to calibrate my displays and such and keep everything as accurate as possible but to a degree it's just guess work and i just go with what looks right to me and it seems to work
