Over the years I have fallen into a style or two. Beady eyes are mostly seen on Cora the beaver. Lola and Wanda both have arches. Blank eyes are just easier to color in after being inked. Eyelashes only stick out to the sides for some reason.

This is very interesting. I always love seeing how other artists approach their craft!
I don't know about you but I always start with the eyes whenever I begin a drawing (well, after I draw a circle for the head and "crosshairs" so I know which direction they're looking.) If I don't get the eyes right first I find it nearly impossible to go any further in a drawing until I do.
I'm sure I'm guilty of not having enough variety in the way I draw my characters eyes, but, so be it, I guess.

I do that as well... I find the eyes make the whole character. I'll often be at a loss of what to draw, just doodling, draw a pair of eyes, and take it from there, letting how I drew the eyes govern what sort of creature it is, which way it's facing (most of my drawings are in left-facing 3/4 view), and what it's doing.
I noticed that in a trendy Pasadena beauty supply shop that large, painted lines suggesting huge eye lashes have become a fashion in young ladie's makep recently. My first impression was, "Why that looks like the way Megan draws her eyes on her characters." I've seen some attractive women done up in this style of makeup, and if applied subtly, it can be very attractive. (Kinda like the "Lion Eyes" the ancient Egyptians wore.) Could it be you might have started a trend with your art? (I also would like to ask of your permission to make a "Hardcopy" of this image for reference.)
