These are closer to a bardiche than a halberd. A bardiche is described as having long, often curved one-sided blade attached with two, widely spaced sockets and used primarily as a chopping weapon, whereas a halberd is mostly a reinforced pike used to repel horsemen, often with an additional axe head and a hook on the sides.

But I must ask, how in the hell did the left guard get the spear piece onto his stick? I presume the piece is wedged onto the wood but with the little stubby piece in the center...uhm...that doesn't work. I just love the piece though!
