I couldn't move. How could he just throw himself at those creatures, and what even were they? All I could think of was running, but I knew I couldn't just leave him; I couldn't—wouldn't—allow myself to be that much of a coward. There wasn't time to figure out what the look that Kazael had given me meant, but even though I didn't know Kazael well yet, somewhere inside me I knew that he did not want me to disappoint him. If I had chosen to run then maybe my involvement would have ended there, but I didn't. I jumped down after Kazael to face these strange, bony, shadowy cats, and all I could hear was my heart beating in my ears...

Malif, the narrator, is the black cat, and Kazael is the big, bad, brave lynx point. XD The idea of this picture actually came from a picture I took of one of the feral cats crouching and backing up as another one acted dominant towards him, though in the picture you couldn't see the other cat, just his shadow. Although they are completely different, that's where the idea came from. LOL. And I have had this as a WIP since March. @_@ The little story is from the kitty story I am pecking away at slowly. :)
