No Raccoons or Trees were harmed in the making of this
FINALLY got to see Guardians of the Galaxy (GotG).
If you haven't seen the movie as yet, then stop reading as you might spoil it for yourself.
So yes, I got to see the movie and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. From the opening scene where Christ Pratt is dancing to Redbone's "Come And Get Your Love", I couldn't help but smile as I knew that I was gonna love this sound track. But I digress, this movie was just wow. I like the fact that it didn't focus on too much of any one of the guardians but that each of them got a fair amount of screen time and I think that that was essential. Even though the story revolved around Starlord and him bringing together the guardians, I liked seeing their chemistry and how each of them interacted with one another. Sure, they all have their flaws but they work it out for the better and because of that they become stronger as a team.
And I really did enjoy seeing that. Like that scene where they are on the mining planet, waiting to see the Collector, and the guys (Groot, Rocket & Drax) are gambling and drinking, while Starlord is putting the moves on Gamora and they're interrupted by a fight that's going on inside the bar and you see Drax fighting with Groot and a drunk Rocket pulls out his big ass gun and breaks down as he talks about how he's so angry cuz he didn't ask to be experimented on and how he hates being called vermin, etc. I really did like that scene, to me it showed how human Rocket is, even though he's a raccoon.
And who can forget about Groot? Even though he doesn't say much he gives a lot to the movie, the gentle giant that he is, he still can kick ass and be happy about it. I was sad to see him go in the end but I kinda knew in the back of my head that they'd bring him back somehow. Seeing the baby Groot dance to the Jackson 5 "I want you back", with Drax looking back every so often to make sure he wasn't was funny! XD And also, it was also "D'awwww" to see Drax comfort Rocket by petting him on his head as he cried over the death of Groot. And subsequently, seeing Rocket's tail wag was also, "D'awww" <3
And oh yeah, seeing Starlord dancing to distract Ronan, and his subsequent reaction, "What *ARE* you doing?" was just wow! XD
So yeah, I definitely enjoyed seeing GotG and cannot wait for the next installment.
What I don't get was that ending scene. What was all that about, the Collector having a drink with Howard the Duck? Anyone care to explain that to me? o.O;

I swear to LEE if that ending is a teaser to a movie yet to be released, I will be SO done!!!!
Said it before, will say it again - I so WISH at the "WE.. Are.. Groot..." / fade to white.. I was SO hoping Rocket would have bitched him out! "All this time, you gotta pick NOW to say something new?!?!"

I really don't know if there will be a "Howard the duck" movie. 8S
Well, he did bitch asking him why is he doing this and telling him that he'd die. I also enjoyed the fact that even though all Groot says is "I am Groot" Rocket can still manage to understand what he's saying.
