Aaand now I'm experimenting with black backgrounds. :D There are some definite advantages to using black behind characters; the first being that outside lineart becomes basically invisible (and therefore not important), and lighting effects can be WAY cooler. But, it also poses some coloring problems (with the edges again, mostly) and you have to be a lot more careful with dark colors because they blend in a lot easier.
ANYWAY, all of that aside, here we have Trixie (the kitty) and Ember (the phoenix), engaging in some sort of "friendly" activity. XD Trixie does not look very pleased... probably because poor Ember pounced on her without her consent. Those wings... so pretty! I really love Ember's design in particular. The artist who made her ref sheet also managed to get lines that are literally 1 pixel thick... HOW! I'm always amazed when I see that type of lineart.
I AM WAY TALKATIVE TODAY so I'ma just stop now. Enjoy guys!
