Suiting in public is not bad. I recommend having someone out of costume with you. Some locations I've been either in costume or assisting someone was Walmart (appearance), skating rinks, downtown Winston-Salem, Give Kids the World, Carytown, Maymont Park, ImaginOn, and a number of other spots.
