I've actually never taken painting classes besides this one time in art class. I personally really enjoy acrylic painting because you are able to blend and layer colors. I usually just add the base colors and then the background first and then do details later. Like for this I painted the wild dog purple, black, blue, and red and painted serval layers so that I didn't see the canvas. Then I painted the background. After that finished drying I just began to add in details like the fur, eyes, and nose. Honestly when painting I just do whatever feels right I guess

I also used a picture for reference which helped a lot ha
