Well, the movie at least did say he was both genetically and cybernetically altered/enhanced, so who knows how far they took things. Little dude does need a lot of energy to power those cybernetics and acrobatic manuevers.

Exactly. Comes out of nowhere, holds no value, what-so-ever to anything...and gives the 3-D...ahem...more depth. Holds as much useless atmosphere as knowing StarLord 'Paws off' in his own ship.

The implication I got from that was that he had so many alien space babes visit his ship that things got messy pretty much everywhere.

If I were a betting deer, I'd place a chip on both possibilities.

Heroes does repeat lines a little too soon, but Rocket has some fun ones none the less. My favorite is "Yes, I have problems, and this is how I deal with them!"

I also like him saying "Just try to pet me, lady" when Squirrel Girl walks by. I bet he doesn't get much bedroom action with an attitude like that, unless he runs into a female who likes the tough guys.

So I actually picked up the first issue of the new Rocket comic. It's not the most serious thing, but it's amusing.

He gets a loooot of bedroom action.

Rocket gets portrayed differently by each writer. I'm not a huge fan of Skottie Young's take on the character but at least he's getting laid. 83

I'm finding that I'm rather particular on the style he's done in too. Maybe it's just the movie doing the 'raccoon with guns' so well and I liked that a lot, but a lot of renditions of him are 'tiny human with fur' (especially in facial features) and that just seems... weird and off to me.

Sounds kind of like many writers don't tend to know just what to do with such a character. And, when you have multiple writers in the works, details are easily lost and changed.

Simpler for me. I know 'him' from the movie and just saw a couple Avenger's episodes that YouTube pushed my way, where I suppose his brain came from the land Down Under. Else, I know nothing. And, from what little I've gathered, this movie took a lot of liberties in bending previous details. Like, how could 'kid' StarLord have ever become a military jet pilot in some Earthen air force if he seemingly never returned to Earth? (Though, I'm sure they didn't want the movie to sound too much like Green Lantern's background.)

I knew Rocket was going to be a big addition to the furry fandom as soon as the movie came out, not that I'm complaining. :3

It annoys me a bit that almost all the new Rocket porn is gay and it annoys me even more that he's getting drawn being raped by people's OCs. How you can walk out of that movie thinking "Poor little guy, I must rape him" I do not know. Not that I have a leg to stand on considering I draw movie characters getting eaten fairly often, but still.

Yeah, that's true, though sadly that is just what happens when there's an anthropomorphic animal character on something. I'm glad to have mainly just seen tame stuff of him so far, though.

when I used the search words here on FA, I found a lot of rather tame...even faithful stuff. (If raccoon snarling and holding gun is deemed faithful.) But, I knew the rule 34 was going to be violated hard core, anyhow.

But...if you think about it. Really think about it. The undertone of Furry is idealized in Rocket. That perfect blend of fur bearing, non-Human being with Humanoid feelings and understandings. Not Human...which is where Furry aims for. Yet, not beastly, either. If our real life science were to go this route, there would be so many half breed critters running around, whining why Humanity is having such adverse reactions...
