These are one of the toughest pairs of bracers that I have ever made. I used what was called "Sole, Shield and Armor Leather" leather which was extremely thick, nearly 1/4"! I even ended up using a band-saw to cut the shapes because it would take a dozen passes with my razor to cut through it!

I love working with this thicker stuff but it's quite expensive. I had even made a breast plate out of it and had people at LARP punch me in the gut. They said it was like punching a brick wall! There will be pictures of it but it's currently undergoing some modifications to improve flexibility and reduce some bruising on my inner arms it gave me during battle.
Yeah, my current breastplate is pickle barrel lamellar scales, hand cut and sewn, my back plate is hand shaped T6 aluminum, the rest of my armor is all 13-15 oz leather, did not make that myself but slowly I have modded it down from whats in some of the pictures, I would love to be able to work leather though and have been playing around with it when I get a chance, my new shield I am working on will be edged with 9oz leather lamellar scales laced with Paracord in my device colors. http://s29.photobucket.com/user/Tig.....and%20Fighting
