Alex the cat made her way home from school, grumbling to herself. As usual, Annabelle and her cronies had tried to make life had for her. Normally Alex would have shrugged off the taunts and barbs, but today, she hadn't been in the mood. The incident at lunch almost pushed her over the edge, and if it wasn't for her friends restraining her, Alex would have punched Annabelle.
"Damn it," Alex muttered. "Why can't they just leave people alone. I mean, would it bee to much to aske to have at least one day free of them?"
She sighed. Alex was so engrossed in her thoughts she didn't notice the green figure approaching until it suddenly glomped her, burying it's face into the fur of her neck.
"LEXIE!"
Hisspan hissed contentedly as she nuzzled the fuzzy cat, her fur fetish getting the better of her. Alex blinked, trying to gather her senses before breaking out into a smile.
"Hi, Hissy."
Hisspan let her go and grinned, showing her fangs.
"Rough day at school?" the cobra asked.
"I've had better," Alex replied.
Hisspan grabbed Alex's hand and began to drag her along towards the mall.
"Then I have the perfect remedy to make it all better," the cobra hissed. "I'm gonna fill you with ice cream until your trouble fade away!"
Alex tried to protest, but it was useless. Hisspan had made up her mind, and her positive attitude was infectious. Alex felt her anger at the day start to fade. With friends like Hisspan to cheer her up, it was hard to stay mad for long...
